It's ridiculous some of the crap people have said to me about being a designer/artist WHILE they are trying to hit on me. It's like.. "Really guy? REALLY?" This one happened a few years ago while I was working at cyworld doing web design/UI work.

Rift Mobile!

Something we've been working on for the past couple of months. Has definitely been a challenge since we had a small team to work on this. I was the only artist, and we had 3 engineers, to work on the iOS and Android version part time while 1.6 stuff was coming out. >_< iOS beta version is out for now. Android will be released soon. Soon as in, when the rest of the engineers are back from winter vacation... =P

I did all the art for this app, and here are some of the minigames we call lootables. These are much like scratchers where you match icons to win a prize. All prizes get sent to you through in game mail. We had a lot of thrashing from branding about this not looking Rifty enough, but to be honest, mobile games have to be fun and appealing! What's more fun then cute critters and crying snakes? Ahaha.. There are hidden crying snakes on each card. Why crying snakes? Because their tears are the rarest drop to complete your tears artifact collection. The art for these cards were done in order below, so you can see it gets progressively more elaborate. If you're a Rifter, these items should look more than familiar to you!

Other cool features include being able to chat with your friends and guildies. I've been using this app everyday, it's really nice being able to feel connected to your friends all the time. Easier to coordinate events as well.

The weather is cold outside! It's getting chilly and winter is fast approaching. For those of you who know me, I love winter because of the holidays and the fashion. ^_^ I love layering up with coats, boots, accessorizing with scarves, etc. This is my coworker Toby's way of relating to this topic. True story, as always. I have yet to see him wear his sexy cashmere Burberry scarf however.

Owl Shirts!

After some problems with the shipment, I finally got the shirts I ordered. I custom ordered guy and girl versions for people who had requested these. The guy's version is a monotone brown as you can see. The girl shirts are more colorful. If there are more requests I will order more, or think about submitting it to threadless or shirt site for people to order directly off of. These cost almost $20 per shirt (and what I'm charging) to make in production because of the color and tshirt type, so I'm not making profit off of these. I'm just doing it for fun. =) I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. The girl shirts are super soft and comfy!

Backstory: She's someone who's just graduated from UC Berkeley and has developed quite the tree hugging habit since then. Chinese are cheap, Period. That's why we reuse a lot of our stuff, and are very resourceful. So in theory, we consume less. Today, that makes us environmentally responsible. I still call it being "cheap". However, it's way more acceptable and "cool", so no need to be embarrassed now! Because I can say I'm being "Green" instead.

Ahhh! I haven't been updating my blog lately because I've been so busy all the month of April and May. Been traveling and working on my portfolio. I Just came back from NYC, it was rainy most of the time there but pretty awesome. Going to Las Vegas next week for a bachelorette party.

I have all these ideas and material saved up for comic ideas. This has been an old story I have told many people, and it dawned on me that it would make a great comic. Hope it comes across well. =)
Again, all my comics are based on real life stories. And that goes for my wardrobe too. =P

Ellery The Jones makes a comeback! This conversation actually happened over text. I could only imagine his expression after I asked that. All I know is that there was a long pause, a shock, and then he probably started laughing.

Drawing myself is getting harder especially since my hair color and length changes all the time. It's a bit boring to fix my look especially since it keeps changing. So, I like to draw myself reflecting how I currently look. Hard to keep up! =P

Happy Birthday Shelby! This is for you.

This was based on a conversation we had at a bar one night. Hence why we are holding drinks. Or perhaps I just want to be holding a drink. I'm going to draw us holding drinks, and that is that. There's nothing you can do to stop me.
So, we were talking about occupations and how she was taking all these extra classes to enhance her skills, but has been avoiding a certain class due to the dissection requirements. Now if you know me at all, you know that killing animals has definitely not been an absence from my life (I can follow this up with a recent story about a rooster named Pepper. Hint: the story isn't very long and it doesn't end well. Well not for the rooster at least.)
Anyhow, I think this illustration exemplifies my case. =)

A piece a made for my college roommate Hyojin, who is Korean. She had her bridal shower on saturday, and I wanted to make something for her.
The bear concept is based on the popular Korean Manhwa/Drama, "Goong". The outfits are based on Nakyoung and Steve's Wedding where they wore traditional Korean HanBok. It was really beautiful. I plan on making a copy for them as well, but I'd like to refine this piece a little more.

But, I am practicing and figured this would be a good way to brush up on my skills and force me to draw more. A piece I did for someone's gift in 2007. Revamped with some cleanup, contrast and wooden floor. He was a musician and dreamt about being on tour with a band. He played all these instruments. Each kitty represents that type of genre he played. And oldie, but a goodie. We had on going jokes about kitties. =) And well, aren't kitties awesome?

It was a wonderful 3 day weekend! We even got in some Ice Skating! ^_^ I finished Bayonetta, and picked up Ninja Gaiden II to compare. I forgot how hard NG is >_<. Next I'll also be checking out Assassin's Creed II. With all my heart, I absolutely recommend all Bayonetta. It gets a 9.5 from me. The UI is slightly confusing and sometimes unintuitive. The game play was just amazingly fun and satisfying. The animation is so fluid and well done. You won't be disappointed!! When I get around to it, I really hope I'll be able to post some fan art of Bayonetta soon. ^_^

This weekend was my cousin's baby shower. I haven't played pong for a while ever since they took it away from us at work ;T_T;
